I would also prefer an anime series to a live action one, but I don't think a live action one would necessarily get lost since among the other stuff because it would stand out a little bit due to having its two male leads in a romantic relationship (I'm sure there might be a couple of other cop/procedural shows with at least gay side characters if not lead characters, but it would still make FAKE a bit different from the average cop show)

Not just that, there's a lot of silliness involved in it and the kids have a big part in the series, which would also make it stand out compared to the other cop shows. But mostly the silliness in-between all the serious.
