Why GUY SEBASTIAN of all people?!? Surely we can have a better rep :( or an unknown. He was so boring in the World idol. is this really how we break into EUROVISION?!

Is he still a thing?

Apparently he's been doing world tours and the like. Meh.

I'd prefer an upcoming rising star or unknown. Guy is so booooring.

I don't really follow pop music, but even I think we have more interesting people to represent us.

I won't watch it anyway, so it shouldn't bother me.

It's Eurovision. It's meant to be loud and colourful and fun. Or enthralling. Guy...hasn't been for a long time...

Apparently other runner ups were Jessica mauboy and kylie.

Sigh. Maybe he'll surprise us. He was my fave contestant way back but since then so boring...

I vaguely remember him being good on idol (over a decade ago?).

(In all seriousness geography and political boundaries has nothing to do with qualifying. See: Iraq, Ukraine, North Africa, Turkey, Russia and many others. And not strictly abiding by being in the EBU broadcast, there's a few other criteria and judging patterns. It was going to happen eventually, Australia is a major fan and got to fan participate last year. Might not be in it ever year but it's a start!)

I won't be too fussed, since everyone still has to send a performance to the judges to even get in. There's a lot of countries out there that I wonder what their Eurovision entry will be like! (Traditional? Modern? Hilarious? Serious? Opera? Rock? Lullabye???)

Uh, Guy Sebastian was one of my three favorites from World Idol. He has a very pretty voice.

But is Aus really doing Eurovision? That's bizarre.

His voice is nice enough and I was my fave in Aus idol but I was heavily disappointed in world idol and since then I've found his songs pretty boring. They're not bad, just boring.

So I miffed something I find boring is moving into something I find fun :(

Not so bizarre. After letting us participate last year and always welcoming us in the years before, it was only a matter of time. Not all countries involved are European ;)

Caerbannog, it's okay. Don't panic. The British entry is always the most embarrassing, 'cause we just don't take it seriously. Plus, noone likes us so we always score terribly, lol. Everyone likes Australia, you guys will be fine. :)

Lol I don't want us to win though, that's be too damn weird. But also don't want is to be boring and never invited again :( ahhhh first (second?) impressions!

Azerbaijan have been in it for a number of years now, I'm pretty sure Australia will get invited back!

Have you heard the song that your guy is entering? I haven't heard ours, but it's bound to be awful. It usually is. Me and my mates usually just get drunk and laugh our arses off at Graham Norton's commentary (not as good as Terry Wogan's, but almost as good). :D

It hasn't been released yet! Some time in the next week or so. Then I'll properly decide on an opinion instead of a knee jerk complaint.

A friend and I are already planning our night! It will be less drink this year cause she's preggers but we will still go all out!
