I felt that way about it when I watched it years (decades?) ago. Couldn't understand why everyone else I knew loved it. (But I've been meaning to give it another go... I've heard some of the songs several times since and they've grown on me. Tastes change, so maybe I'll appreciate the rest of the film more now too.)

I hate this movie and it's my bff's favorite movie, so I don't know why you'd think that.

But maybe the fact that you think that disliking a movie makes someone's mind too alien and strange to understand is proof enough that we could never get along.

I have always fucked hated it, tbh (and James and the Giant Peach, because until Shrek came along, it was the go-to movie every fucking time we got out early for the holidays/out for summer. Ah, the nineties. And at least Shrek was still great on repeated viewings).

I hated the movie version of James and the Giant Peach because I loved the book and they fucked it up. Especially Spiker and Sponge tracking him down. WTF??

Same. And it should have been right up my alley. I loved Tim Burton movies, Oingo Boingo and was into the Goth movement. But that movie...I saw it once and that's all I needed to see it.

Worse is when people find out that you like Goth, horror and creepy things and they aren't into it, they always bring this movie up in a, "Oh, I love that movie. Isn't it the best?"

No...sorry. Not my cup of tea.

Ah yes the thread of people falling over themselves to be edgy and tell us how boring they find a almost 20 year old movie. Nobody cares. Seriously. It isn't a crime to find a movie with a much different pace then most 'kids' movies these days boring. But it's annoying as fuck when you act like it makes you special.
