I earnestly love every character on B99 (OK, Scully & Hitchcock to a slightly lesser degree), and I agree! I haven't seen "Homicide" but Braugher really brings it comedy-wise. (His character really works well with every other character too... love his relationship with Kevin.)

I'm a little scared now that fans of B99 will seek out "Homicide" because of all us Andre Braugher fans talking about it, and be traumatized.

It's a pretty good show, but not the same thing at all.

But why? I assume that most of the people watching B99 are adults, with the capacity to understand that HLOTS is a different show and a different genre (drama), and Braugher is playing a completely character, who just happens to also be a cop. What the heck would people be "traumatized" by?? By the dated directorial style and soundtrack?

(AYRT) Ahaha! From what I've heard/read, I definitely understand "Homicide" is like, the polar opposite of B99. I'll check it out (partially to say I've watched every show Detective Munch has appeared in), but I won't hold you accountable for any trauma that occurs.

Eh, when I hear "Homicide: Life on the Streets" I don't think "lulz."

I didn't even realize B99 was a comedy until I mentioned wanting more shows like Parks and Recreation and was told this was the show to watch if you love P&R. (It is!)

I still remember and love the scene where Bayliss and Frank are in a car and Bayliss is reading a how to speak Spanish book. Frank is not amused after Bayliss tries to say in Spanish, "how was your day?" Frank grabs the book, flips through it and says "It el-sucko the big-o weiner-o. There I'm bilingual".

Then the camera pulls back and the two are in the car which is being towed.

Oh, I agree! I'll admit that when he first turned up I assumed he was going to be the strict boss getting in the way of stuff. But he's managed to remain that while also showing a soft side. I love his backstory, too.

I love Ray Holt so much, he's absolutely great and it's tied between him and Amy for my favourite character. But honestly I like all of them, they all bring something to the show.

I'm not surprised this ended up too big for the post. Containing Captain Holt's awesomeness within a 600x600-pixel square is a challenge that most of us would be unequal to, OP.
