Wow, if you think they look 'weird' then there's probably something wrong with you. Or your taste is just whack. The artwork is fucking stunning.

What are you, the manga's artist? It doesn't bad or anything, but it doesn't seem strikingly different from a lot of yaoi manga I've seen

DA but I'd like to see an example, too. because, no, nobody is quite as technichally good and their artwork as aesthetically pleasing to look at as Yamane.

Nayrt, I think her art is nice but also bland and forgettable. She has no personal kick to it, unlike Nakamura Shungiku who is rightfully much more successful and appreciated by yaoi fans.

I'd pay for doodles Yamane Ayano scribbled on toilet paper while she was drunk before I'd give Nakamura Shungiku's uglyass faces and shittastic "plots" (Ha!) a second glance.

There really is no comparison in the quality of art. Nakamura hasn't heard of proportion for a start. Her mouths all look like dead fish and everyone has exactly the same eyes. Actually, scratch that, virtually everyone has the same face, too. I have a very hard time telling her characters apart.

I have zero problems telling Nakamura's characters apart while Yamane's sameface and flat characters and unexpressive "style" got me bored of her stuff years ago. There is no comparison indeed, Yamane can go starve while Nakamura has all my money. I'm in love with her characters and her stories and her art, words cannot describe.

i find it funny that you accuse yamane of having sameface when nakamura suffers from it as well. i got no dog in this race, but they both do have their issues when it comes to creating characters that have different facial features.

They're a rabid Nakamura stan (and, presumably, about 14 like most of her fans who think her trash is romantic and cute); hypocrisy is the least of their problems.

eh, i don't really care if they like nakamura's stuff or not. i just found it a bit funny that a fan of nakamura's work would call out another artist for having issues with samefaced characters.

It is, but I'm fairly new to F!S (and can't remember many BL manga secrets in the time I've been here) so...

and since i'm not doing anything, i guess i could try to dig up some of the threads they've been in.

Since the latter half of last year, off and on. I knew of F!S long before that but I hadn't actually participated. I honestly can't remember now how I ended up here again! Probably a link from one of the fandoms I was in at the time and something must have piqued my interest to hang around for a while.

Ah, that's okay, I'm not that invested in them. There's no point trying to discuss anything with a stan, anyway. All the do is embed themselves deeper in their stanning.

I agree that art is subjective, but I do feel like this illustrator is extremely talented as far as manga artists go. I mean, the series is praised for its art above all else, same with that other one she did (Crimson Spell, or something like that?)
