Really incredible tornado videos... (Possible natural disaster trigger)

(Anonymous) 2015-03-07 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
I'm continually awed by the power of nature. I recently stumbled into some incredible videos taken by people in shelter as a tornado is hitting and I cannot imagine how terrifying it must be to live it. My heart really goes out to people who have to look nature in the eye like that and lose everything.

Most of these videos are audio only due to being shot in darkness.

Joplin tornado https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZvo39XT8bk

Joplin tornado again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQnvxJZucds

Moore tornado https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5jr4nI1Mys

Washington Il tornado https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFrgSVoJi1U

Cordova Il tornado https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8DjtxOaOeQ

Location unknown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_msBOKS6Irc

And lastly, a surveillance video from Henryville showing why taking cover is so important as a tornado rips into a school gym. (It's empty, don't worry.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0d0NIqoIqBg

Respect nature. She'll kick your ass.

Anyone else have any storm videos they want to share?

Eeeee, are you still here? This is one of my passions, actually. I'm just so fascinated by storms, the weather, and tornadoes... with the good and bad. I've been interested in them and learning about them for a long time. Although nothing in specific brought it on? I've never seen one with my own eyes, although I've always loved storms. And every time a storm happens, I'm like.. ecstatic. I save hail in my freezer, I go out and photograph cloud pictures... I'm an enthusiast.

I get upset if I'm keeping track of storm/weather news and a good storm misses us. (Of course not tornadic storms. I only wish tornadoes in empty fields)
Thanks for the videos, nonnie. I've seen some of them already, actually! I'm morbidly fascinated by them, even with how horrible and terrifying it is.

Even so, it's my dream to chase and photograph them. I'd start out with a professional tour, probably. And learn more and more.

As for videos, I don't have any more family/security cam recordings, but I keep up to date with vids from my favourite chasers.

Here's a crazy video from just this July!: http://youtu.be/wDmAR7v5aA0
This guy has other good ones, too.

And this one is also pretty freaky!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iuGipbmneY

And there a timelapse of mesocyclone. Such beautiful structure and formation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSORpd9QFSA

There's also Reed Timmer's series, Storm Chasers that aired on discovery, and Tornado Chasers - a web only series that you pay for. (I still have season 1 on my harddrive but never bought 2 yet!)

Although I'm probably getting way off base here. Uwah, sorry!
