It sounds like you might really enjoy roleplaying, anon. If you find a good group, you can keep your stories going for years. If you have a local comic and gaming store, you can shop around for groups there (and if you're in college, there might be a gaming group or five around campus you can join). There are also a bunch of online venues, though where to look varies by your area of interest.

Thanks for the idea! Roleplaying sounds fun but also intimidating, cause I'd be playing with strangers and would feel like I have to be good at it. Maybe I'll give it a go someday anyway, it does sound like a really good way to keep a part of the playing characters hobby.

I don't think you have to be good at it when you start.

It can definitely be intimidating getting started, but if you find a good group, they'll realize there's a learning curve and be willing to help you through it. You can usually ask around for beginner-friendly games, and if you talk to the gamestaff or GMs before joining, you can get a good idea of whether or not it'd be a good fit for you. If they're standoffish or unwilling to answer questions, move on.
