I don't understand why that's a reason to hate somebody.

I agree. I think that's a really shallow and petty reason to hate someone and it just makes you look bad.

It isn't a rational reason to hate somebody. However, we view celebrities different from people we normally interact with. Movies are what we have to judge them by. Unless your super invested in knowing their life story and learning everything about them, you only get what you see on the surface.

That's why people in bad movies might have lots of irrational hate. It's nothing personal, really.
