I'm a bit sad this thread is empty, so I guess I'll just say my husband compliments me every day by telling me I'm beautiful and he loves me. Even on days when I haven't even brushed my hair and I'm wearing sweatpants and a ratty t-shirt, which is, tbh, most days.

A sweet, grandmotherly customer who spoke very limited English tried very hard to find the proper English word, then gave up and told me I was 'preciosa.'

Awwwww, that's really sweet. :)

Because I get so much shit for my hair color (red), I absolutely treasure sincere compliments. So being told by a random stranger (handsome Turkish guy) that my hair was beautiful, and then told that my hair 'was like fire' by some other guy in a club really made my day, both times.

They're not the last compliment I received, but the ones that really turned my day around.

That they liked my hair (it goes down almost to my knees).

I think that was my boyfriend telling me i looked pretty.

Your master's thesis sounds interesting. That really made my day :)

A random lady told me I "looked really friendly" at the supermarket.

There were lots from this woman who I knew from church years and years ago. (I've been out of church for like a decade, maybe more.)

"Wow, you look great, so beautiful and grown up, I wouldn't have recognized you if your mother wasn't here! You've lost a lot of weight, how did you do it? And look at that hair, and that makeup, and those dimples; you've changed! Wow, my husband wouldn't recognize you either if he was here."

Thanks for that backhanded compliment, lady. (Ugh, this woman has always given me the creeps; she once lectured me about how I was living my life wrong and tried to pressure me into spending time with her. When I saw her face I just wanted to bolt.)

A patient told me that they really liked the way my hair looked. :)

I'm actually treasuring this a bit. From my manager on my promotion: "you should be really proud of yourself. You're doing really well" (he said sincerely)
