I mean, I agree that colors have meanings, but considering that pink shows up three times (to the best of my knowledge w/ Hermione's robe, Hagrid's umbrella, and Umbridge's Umbridge), and Umbridge is in no way "silly", I don't know if I'm comfortable ascribing anything to that color, unlike green/gold/red which are used consistently throughout the books.

(Anonymous) 2015-03-10 12:47 am (UTC)(link)Well, there's Pansy Parkinson wearing pink at the Yule Ball (while Hermione wears blue. geez, there was so much displaced rage about her pink dress in the movie!). Parvati and Padma wear shades of pink for the same occasion.
Take that as you will.

To be fair, Parvati and Padma aren't really the bad guys ever either, and their annoyance at Harry & Ron is understandable, since Ron and Harry were kind of dicks during the dance. |D

(Anonymous) 2015-03-10 01:21 am (UTC)(link)I guess the interpretation could really go either way, if we had just one over the top frilly feminine pink liking character who's shown as cool.
Sleuthing after a colour is surprisingly difficult, lol. You would think somebody should have made a compilation or analyzed it by now, at least in HP.
