Re: how did you get to the profession you are now?

I started out washing dishes, but I got seriously sick and couldn't keep working. The manager liked my work ethic and said there'd always be a job open for me if I came back, but she retired, and her replacement didn't have any work for me when I came back. I guess someone took pity on me, because I somehow wound up with an administrative assistant job in another department, just as a test to see if they could function more efficiently with someone to help. Turned out I make their lives a lot easier, so they're still keeping me around. (This is also why I switched majors to accounting, since I'm doing so well at accounting-style work.)
