Yes, give it a pass. The entire series is just cringe-inducing in its "80s fantasy written by a 70s fantasy nerd/early amateur programmer" vibe, Richard Garriot (the aforementioned fantasy nerd) is a hack who thinks things like improving gameplay quality-of-life is stupid (i.e. he thinks we should all draw our fucking maps on paper, etc.)

It's not a good series, never was, but back in the 80s it was supposedly the best in its genre which is really sad. And anyone who actually still LIKES it in 2015 is... unpleasant.

* Almost forgot, he fucking calls himself "Lord British." Ultima is the king of neckbeard RPGs.

Good to know! I read the beginning of a Let's Play of it and it seemed like a lot of effort to play through it.
