Seconding. My friends and I (especially back in our super low-wage jobs days as opposed to our semi-respectable entry-level low-wage jobs) used to have a standing policy of "if I want to hang out with you and you can't afford it, consider the money my way of ensuring we have a good time." Things aren't so tight for most of us now, but it was always nice that if I wanted to go out, I could throw in some money to buy a friend a slice of pizza or a beer, and when the tables were turned, they'd do the same.
