Maybe OP wanted Katrina to get a redemption arc? I think TPTB screwed around and didn't do Katrina justice until near the very end, so while I feel bad for the actress...I'm not sad to see her go. Crane could've tried to restrain her (good luck with that as she had just started using her powers efficiently), but yes, of course even if they had managed they would've had to find a way to restrain her permanently so she wouldn't attack them again, and in the heat of the moment when she was hurting Abbie he stopped her the only way he knew how. I think it's unfortunate he had to kill his wife, but at the same time she wasn't exactly innocent.

And of course he's going to need some time to get over her death, and killing her himself probably screwed him up pretty majorly, but I understand his actions. *shrugs*
