Once Upon a time is a hot low budget mess, it had something going for it early on and I was a legit fan but it just went downhill from there and I quit watching a while back.

Then I randomly decided to watch the start of the Queens of Darkness arc and even though it's still a mess I am enjoying it for some reason.

Plus the start of that arc has Belle finally standing up to Gold, something she should have done seasons ago so I was here for it.

(Not here for Hook and Emma though...)

I watched the Sebastian Stan's episode of OUAT. It didn't seem particularly bad compared to other fantasy shows!

Stan was around when the show was still tolerable and he did great with what he was given. Things got worse after that.

I still ship Belle/Rumple, but I'm amused that so many people who quit did so because of either generally crap writing, Emma/Hook, or both. I quit when Neal died, even though I didn't ship him and Emma, because I've never anti-shipped anything as hard as Captain Swan. Dammit, show, up you were so much better focusing on single Emma and skewed small town life and friendship and family being as important as romance. And at least Belle was pissed at Rumple for what he'd done, Emma (and the show) seem hell bent on ignoring how disgusting Hook is.

For me I think it was crap writing, Belle/Rumple (I don't mind if you ship them but I feel like they were doing Belle a disservice when she was constantly fooled by Gold and I prefer her without him), Emma/Hook to a point (the hateful ust/flirting was one thing but the fact that they are trying to make them a serious couple now? No thanks) and I had stopped watching by the time Neal died but it definitely added to the list of reasons I didn't want to return.

And yeah, I really don't appreciate them just ignoring everything Hook did and it's partially why I don't like him and Emma as a couple. Single Emma would be better but heck I think I'd take about ANY other love interest she had on the show over Hook because at least the previous ones could fall into the good guy camp without completely trying to erase who they were previously on the show.

I'd be fine with Hook seeking redemption and *trying* to be a good man but it just seems like all he cares about is Emma and he's not seriously trying to make up for anything he did.

The show also just got boring and repetitive. I quit after Neverland because it was like "Oh more people are related. Oh more Regina and Gold going back and forth between good and evil. Oh more stories where Regina and Rumple usurp the original villain." Rumple was originally my favorite character and Robert is a fine actor but they just killed my love for him with the writing.
