Make it part of you. Make it your armor. If nothing else, life with it out of spite, because if you can't change it, live flagrantly and fly in the face of the thing that is challenging you. Nothing can dictate to you the terms of your own life.

This has worked for me about everything from multiple family members committing suicide, to learning of my adopted family's incest, to my epilepsy, to being abandoned by my family because of my epilepsy.

I have every right to be a mess. I have every right to be dead. Instead I am alive, because I refuse to let anything demolish me. Nothing has the right to try to kill me.
