No you are most certainly not the only one who believes that FFIX is the best FF. Far from it, in fact.

Awesome! 'cause it seems like everyone's convinced FFVII is the best or something, but it really isn't alfjalf.

Interestingly enough, almost every Final Fantasy preference discussion I've had, especially recently, has shown that there is an overwhelming general dislike for FFVII (Probably mostly due to all the recent new related stuff/potential for gaining indie points.). IX has always been viewed as a sort of underdog because it is much much different from the others. It has a different style and a different overall tone, and people tend to either find it to be far superior or far inferior to the others.
