I tend to prefer platonic relationships to romantic relationships in general, but I hate how fandom has this mentality that it's not real love if they are not having sex.

I always wondered why people tend to ship stuff that is canon platonic more than stuff that is canon romance, and I think it's because a solid friendship/partnership is the best foundation for a relationship. Unfortunately a lot of times romance is thrown in purely for the sake of pairing everyone off and you don't feel as attached to it.

I do wish there were more romances that were developed as well as platonic relationships. Slow burn between two people who make a great team and have good chemistry with each other.

I'm not a fan of slow burn, but I wish there were more romances - including same-sex ones - where the relationship is portrayed as a source of strength and stability where the partners are friends, instead of a source of drama and conflict.
