I play SWTOR. All of my toons are female, because, for once, I can play a video game and not control Default Stubbly White Dude.

Most of the armor does a good job of looking similar on male and female characters--there's even a couple of barechested coats that just have a bandeau top on the ladies. And then, naturally, there's the Slave Girl-type stuff that's only equippable on female characters.

Sometimes, though, the difference in armor based on gender is MASSIVE for no reason. I ended up with a chestpiece that was basically a sports bra and detached fabric buttflap. On a male character, it had sleeves, and a midriff, and a collar (and it wasn't, as far as I could tell, MEANT to be "sexy"). The disconnect was baffling. I won a roll on another chestpiece while running with a PUG, and no one else wanted it because it was ugly. I didn't care, the thing had SLEEVES.

But the availability of "sexy" armor for male toons in SWTOR is really, really limited. For various reasons, my husband has named all of his toons but his main after underwear (male and female), and spent AGES trying to find armor for his male toons that was basically underpants. Most of it is invisible armor, but there is exactly ONE pair of pants for male toons that looks skimpy like underwear. When he decked out a female toon similarly, there were multiple options for skimpy bottoms--the trick was finding a top that didn't cover them up!

Oh yeah I've noticed that more recent armour sets in games(even WoW which has always been terrible for it) for ladies haven't been as skimpy, or have been equally as skimpy on a dude, which I like. But sadly there are cases where this still doesn't apply and it's always a bit frustrating.

One of the mog sets I'm after on my warrior is super-skimpy on a lady(like really it is bikini-plate) but on a dude it's a full breastplate and greaves. And that's like, nah man I want full plate stockings on a male toon as well with this you get me? But alas, that is not meant to be.

It's always so much easier to find skimpy-wear for lady toons than male, like you have to hunt to find that shit in WoW half the time. And even in GW2 the discrepancy can be annoying, but I will say that GW2 does do a pretty good job for the most part with it's armour sets(the cloth gear is where is starts to fall apart a bit).
