What exactly did you like about DA:O that wasn't in DA:I? Because it seemed to me that they caved to a good many of the demands of the people who think that DA2 was the worst game ever and DA:O was perfect.

Not OP, but I felt like DA:I has much more in common with DA2 than DA:O as well. I think Bioware was aiming for a middle ground between the two but kind of missed the mark.

DA:O had a much more choice-driven narrative structure. Not only can you change the fates of Orzammar and Ferelden, save or destroy the anvil, save or annul the Circle, etc. DA:O also lets you do the major story quests in whatever order you want. DA:O also has a lot of origin-specific content even outside of the opening, whereas DA:I gives you some flavor text and a war table tree. And DA:O has about twice the number of major questlines as DA:I, and much better sidequests.

DA:I and DA2 are both very linear in structure, with minimal voiced NPCs and very basic sidequests. DA:I obviously has much larger areas than DA2 but they're fairly lifeless compared to DA:O's maps.

fwiw I think DA:O is still the best of the three (but Awakening is even better), and DA:I is the worst because it was a major step back in terms of companion quests and interesting sidequests.

I didn't have the opportunity to play DAI yet and sometimes it is a little hard and I feel a little left out when everyone around me is discussing it, but there is still a lot of discussion about the other games. There are a lot of DA2 fans that didn't like Inquisition and even a couple of DAO fans that still think DAI was not as good. I guess what I am trying to say is, don't give up OP, it's a little harder to find and there is a lot of DAI around but there are still alot of people like you (or me) to be found.

Text: I used to be a pretty active fan in the Dragon Age fandom, made graphics, wrote stories and all that. But then I really didn’t like what I read about Inquisition and while I did try it out, it didn’t click with me at all. It felt like a “fixed” Dragon Age 2, and lacked a lot of what I liked in Dragon Age Origins.

Ultimately I gave up playing since it just wasn’t working out and since that time haven’t done a single thing in the fandom. I feel sort of left out and let down. I don’t think anyone misses me, but I miss having that to belong to.

I wish I could’ve liked it just so that I could join in the fun again.
