I don't know this one, but I get how it happens.

Writing is hard, drawing is hard, doing both by yourself can be really hard, and this can be the result.

From what I can tell, Safehold's a sci-fi book series; the Awkward Zombie strip was about an unrelated videogame that just happened to also describe the OP's thoughts about Safehold.

Yeah. Safehold has turned into "Faction A has DONE something! Let's watch faction B interpret the action and try to determine a response! Now let's watch faction C do the same thing, with slightly different conclusions! And faction D! And now back to faction A, spying on faction B and C and deciding its options depending on what they decide! But don't worry, in a couple hundred pages, one of the factions will DO something!"

It reminds me of Magic Knight Rayearth... Where each of the three protagonists had to react to every new revelation. Though I do like Rayearth.

The comic is Awkward Zombie's mockery of Golden Sun: Dark Dawn.

I just nearly wrote it as Dark Darn, which is appropriate.

And there's no fucking stakes to any of it anymore. No one on the "good" side ever disagrees with each other. Legitimate concerns over murder is gotten over so quickly. No one who is important will actually die. I want to like it, but it's driving me crazy. I just want to read the wikipedia article to see how it ends (I know how it will end, but I hope there's at least one surprise in there.)
