Edit: Just trying to decide whether or not to tell you to call an ambulance, but I'm about 89% ready to tell you to call an ambulance.

I would say 99% on that ambulance (if they don't have to pay for it). There are any number of bit not good conditions that indicates. (Walking pneumonia being the chief one.)

Pulmonary edema is almost never something you can leave, but OP might be able to have someone drive them to the ER if it's not far.

Those were the options I was going to suggest.

I came to say I had exactly that when I had walking pneumonia. You don't need to call an ambulance if it is,though, just go to the E.R. or even just a doctor if there's one on call. You don't necessarily need to be admitted to a hospital for walking pneumonia, but you do need antibiotics ASAP.

You should call a doctor just in case it's something really serious, if only to get some professional advice on what to do and if it is something to worry about.

Sounds like rales, possibly.

Are you actually having trouble breathing? Are you feeling like you're *struggling* to breathe? Does your chest hurt, do you feel light-headed or short of breath? If you say 'yes' - go to the ER.

If you start to have to really struggle to breathe and you notice a bluish color in your nails or lips, call an ambulance.

If it's just a kind of wheezy thing, you can breathe fine otherwise, find your nearest emergency clinic and go, or make a doc appt. with your doctor if they're open on the weekend.

Like what sort of burbling noise? Do you have a runny nose? Then no it is not an emergency, is it a crackle deep in your chest that hurts when you even try to breathe? Then you have tuberculosis and you gonna die without immediate medical treatment. Is it a a burbling whistle through an oozing wound in your chest? Well, that is a sucking chest wound and you are already dead. We can't tell, we are just words on a screen. Some of us might be actually people, but I'm fairly certain a solid 60% of posters here are just very sophisticated bots. None of us are qualified to diagnose you from a few vague words of a hastily typed note.

The only solid advice we can give you is that if you are worried at all, consult a doctor or an ER. It might be nothing, it might be something. You'll need someone to examine you in person to find out which.

Could be something small that will resolve itself, could also be something serious.
