Atheism has everything to do with it. I'm a proud pagan and atheists have been, to a one, horrible and disrespectful to me and my beliefs.

Everything to do with what's wrong with Ricky Gervais, or what's wrong with humanity?

If it's the second, kind, respectful people can be atheists, and so can people representative of what's wrong with humanity. Atheism itself is a harmless as religion is when not forced on or used to be cruel to people, so it's not inherently related to screwed-upedness.

If it's not a belief system then why do people believe in it? Why are Richard Dawkins and Ricky Gervais and others held up as saints? They worship "science" (which is really just corporatism) or "rationality" (because neurotypicalism, in itself a disease, is held up as superior to other mental states) but more often they just worship themselves. That is their g-d. This informs the way they live and interpret their lives and how they treat other people. It informs their biases and determines their values, and governs any sense of morality or ethics they adhere too, or ignore.

It's a belief system. Period. Anyone who claims it isn't, is a liar or stupid. As a proud pagan I freely express my faith and I don't claim it's something it's not, the least atheists can do is admit that they're doing the same thing.

You misstepped with "g-d." Censoring the words god in that way is a Jewish tradition and isn't something pagans do.

You would have been much better off playing the part of a Christian, as you sound far more like the Christians who think atheists are out to get them than you do an actual pagan. You got some bites, sure, but you could've kept this going longer if you'd gone with the more believable angle.
