That's okay! Don't most people enjoy those type of things? (I would if I actually wrote or made fanmixes.)

It might not be comments but it doesn't really have to be. It comes from the same place. (I love getting comments. Here, even. So.)

I don't write very much (mostly the occasional PWP), but I do make quite a few fanmixes. I find it a lot easier than other art forms, and I really like putting together the perfect song collection for a specific theme. Although, I'm known for making really long mixes that may be on the too long side for people to want to listen to. But whatever.

Ooo, I didn't realize you made fanmixes! (Steve/Bucky, I imagine?) That's cool!

Though I am wondering how a fanmix can be too long. If the mix is good, why does it matter how long it is? I love longer mixes. When I see a mix with only four or six songs I think, "Why even bother?" (And sometimes I'll like and listen to them all the same, but I prefer longer ones.)

I don't think I've made a Steve/Bucky one yet, though I can't remember all the pre-8Tracks ones I've made. Maybe I should? I've mostly made Middle Earth ones (including an epically long location mix that stupid 8Tracks keeps deleting tracks off of) and a couple Doctor Who ones.

I like long ones, but I don't always get listeners on my long one. My epically long one was made for Waywardmixes, I was really proud of it, but it didn't place or even get any nominations. I think it was just too long for people to listen to.

There are a shitton of Steve/Bucky fanmixes already, but I wouldn't object to another. Maybe yours would be a breath of fresh air!

What's your 8tracks name? Now I have to go like your mixes. I have so many mixes liked that I can't get around to all of them, but I'll try!

Same username, Philstar22. I use it for everything except Tumblr. The really long one is Beauty and Shadow (37 tracks). The others are more normal sized. I only have a few on there right now because for a long time I made downloads instead of using 8Tracks.

Ah, I remember the days of downloadable fanmixes...they were nice. :( 8tracks is convenient, at any rate.

I really miss downloadable mixes, though I've been happier since discovering OMGCats.

Thanks. Stupid 8Tracks no longer allows more than 2 songs by an artist, which has lost several songs on that mix. But I'm super proud of it. I made a bunch of covers for it and made a really detailed post on it. I had a second part planned, but I lost the document I had my planned song lists on.

Oh yes, I love getting likes on fanmixes. Even better, I go to the person's profile and sometimes see songs from my mix in their favourite tracks list and that makes me feel really happy and accomplished in a nice, small way.
I'm a bit torn about kudos, because I usually only get kudos on an old as shit random kink-meme fill and never on the stories I actually spent more time and effort on, but eh, it's still nice.

I wish I felt this way. Getting kudos just doesn't feel the same as getting a comment. I know I should be happy to get anything but I guess I'm still hung up on the "old days" of commenting.

I know I would be much happier with how my fics are being received if I could get over this but so far I can't. :(

I love every time I get a kudos notification. I don't care about comments that much, because to me a kudos is enough of a, "Hey I liked this, thanks for writing!".

I've given up on hoping for comments. The nearest thing I hope for is a kudos where the person actually logged in - it adds something a little more personal, you know? (Most of the kudos I receive are anonymous.)

Yeah I haven't written fic in a long time, but even when I was deep in the LJ fandom, because I didn't write the popular pairings I didn't get a lot of comments, usually just from a small bunch of people who were into that pairing.

So I loved each comment I got because it kind of meant more to me, you know? But I like when I get a random kudos now and then, because it means someone found my fics. XD

Me too. It's a fun thing that I do mainly for myself but it gives me a thrill whenever anyone else appreciates it.

Text: It is stupid, but I still feel really excited when I get a Kudos, a messge from 8tracks that a mix I made has been listened to, and even when I get a reblog on Tumblr.

I don’t care that they aren’t reviews or favorites or comments. It still makes me happy and makes even a bad day better.
