This is mostly why I don't like him, tbh. He treated Dirk very badly. (I don't blame him as much for the bit with Jane since she was pretty dumb about that herself. Interestingly, I don't like Jane much either, and the two of them are the only characters in Homestuck, other than the Amporas, that I actively dislike)

Jake didn't handle the relationship well at all, but considering that -- as far as I can tell -- he was never actually interested in a relationship and got browbeaten into it by the Auto-Responder, I can't blame him much.

Eh. It might be partly personal for me, in fact it certainly is, but his completely lack of communication with Dirk really bothered me. All he needed to do was say "sorry, Dirk, I'm not feeling this." but he just cut him off an ignored him and that shit HURTS

Same. It's amazing how much I adore Roxy and Dirk (to the point where Roxy has been my one Homestuck cosplay), but at the same time I'm just "meh" about Jane and Jake.

I like Roxy and Dirk a lot too! but I also really like all four beta kids. They don't have that divide for me that the alpha kids do. :(

DA Yeah Jake is the only character in Homestuck I actually hate. The love triangle and treating Dirk badly was part of it but also how much he WHINED and complained during that arc really bugged me.

I don't consider him funny enough to make up for those traits either, a lot of the Homestuck characters are flawed but they have other things about them that amuse me.
