Just like legal shows would be super boring if they were too realistic. The one time I nearly had jury duty, the case was something like couple hires dude to do construction thing and they say dude didn't do what they wanted but he says he did all they asked and now they want $. I had a roomate who had to sit on a jury and it was some kind of dispute between a couple and they reached a settlement during the lunch break. I know one person who had to sit on a fairly long trial and it was a class action suit against a lead-based paint manufacturer.

Yes. Your average jury duty isn't going to be a murder case. It's most likely going to be a money dispute. Because those are more common.

Which is why people don't want to do jury duty. It's on a whole, really, really boring.

The only time I was on jury duty, it was some dispute between neighbors about whether this one dude should pay additional fees for the hot tub on his porch. Criminal masterminds all, clearly.

I was considered for jury duty on a case between two prisoners, one of whom had killed the other while in prison. It was in a town 100 miles from where i live, so i was like 'wow, no.' They ultimately didn't call me, but it might have been interesting.
