Really? How so? I've seen a few people say the same thing, but I thought it was an alright second arc for the story.

If anything I'd say the shark jumping is Bach in the current Quincy arc. He slaughters everyone in his way, is all-seeing and is the soul kings son or something. But then I'm really biased as I disliked him from the start. I haven't liked any of the Quincy characters actually, they're boring.

Well, for one thing, everyone adored the Soul Society Arc. It was hugely popular after Aizen's reveal.

Hueco Mundo arc basically felt like a repeat of the same formula, just done worse. And fandom had less sympathy for the abducted "damsel". Sadly Orihime really didn't get any lasting initiative, at least Rukia got a back story.

personally I think it began to suffer from character bloat. Kubo probably always had a thing for that.
But at least Gotei 13 people didn't just get killed off, they were humanized and became favorites, while many Arranker were just filler.

Most of the fights were in vain in the end, because the Captain turned up anyhow- and Orihime didn't figure into Aizen's plan at all.

I stopped reading during the Deicide arc, because Aizen got ridiculous, not just visually.
Bach does sound pretty stupid though. I liked Ishida's story at the start, but they kind of brushed over that conflict.
