Sure, they shouldn't, but people very often do agree to things they don't want to in relationships. For all kinds of reasons, really. Pressure, fear of losing the relationship, apathy... imo, the fact that the cheating happened is less important than the reason why it happened.

For example: "I was bored" is a less understandable reason than, "my partner is controlling" or "I might actually be gay and I needed to find out". Some cheaters cheat for the thrill, but most cheaters cheat because they're unhappy in a relationship.

There really isn't a good excuse for cheating.

If anon's relationship is unhappy, they should end it or work on making it better.

most cheaters cheat because lack of self control and empathy, giving them the out that they're "unhappy" in their relationships buys into the excuses they use, but it's not the reason
