Would you ask a straight person if they would eventually end up with someone their own race, because it would be easier?

I'm not sure that's really comparable, at least not today. Well, not in the US anyway.

I think if I brought home someone who wasn't white (I am white) very, very few people would care. Some really obnoxious extended family members might make a remark or two, though probably out of earshot. I'd give zero fucks. I do not think this (my overall experience) is really unusual.

Ironically, the last two people I've dated (as in, gone on a date with - haven't had an actual relationship with either) have been not white, and not of the same race as each other, either. I've found I just don't really care.

But as far as society goes, interracial dating/marriage is, I think, much more accepted at this point than same-sex dating/marriage. At least in the US. Now I'm really curious as to whether it's different in Europe. I have gotten the sense lately that a lot of stuff regarding race might be different in Europe...

If I dated someone not Norwegian* pretty much everyone would be bothered (some just a tiny bit, others quite a lot), probably not for the exact same reason as in America. It would be okay if I dated someone who was adopted, but not someone who is muslim or from Africa* or Asian (Japan might get a pass on this one)*, long story short: Gay relationships are a lot more accepted in Norway than what "cross cultural" relationships are.

If you want me to explain that better just tell me, I am not sure how to get the point across.

*Western Europe, The Nordic countries and US/Canada is included in this too
*Black people from other places are ok, as long as they are from the list you see over this one minus the Nordic countries.
*Racial prejudice is complicated

that's...quite convoluted.

What's the reasoning behind that? If you don't mind my asking. I'm really curious now.
