47. You know, I always hated Axel/Roxas because Roxas... never acknowledged that he and Axel were friends. All the "they were friends" stuff came from Axel himself. I might be forgetting some scenes, but all I remember is Roxas fighting Axel, Roxas ignoring Axel when he left the Organization, and Roxas pretty much not batting an eye when he died, and then proceeding to smile up at Naminé during the ending despite the fact he met her for a total of maybe 20 minutes.

I was wondering if Axel was actually deluding himself and it's one of those one-sided "THEY'RE MY BEST FRIEND" things where the other person barely notices you exist, and it was only in FM+ where I got any confirmation that Roxas felt the same way. Now they're making a game pretty much confirming "yeah, guys, they were friends."

I know it's a tangent, just something that always bothered me. Of course, now I know that they were friends and I am now fine with the pairing, since it's pretty much gonna become canon anyway.

Never noticed that. Good point. Still, I guess one could argue that Orgy!Roxas is more prickly and aloof that when he was in Twilight, so maybe he was just the personality that openly brushes off but inwardly is thankful? Or something. I dunno.

I can see a friendship, albeit a strained and awkward one. Which is part of what's amusing and kinda cute. I just don't see them...together like a lot of people do.

I dunno, I know a lot of people use the excuse of "Well, organization!Roxas was a dick", but that still doesn't explain why Twilight Town Roxas STILL didn't react very favorably to Axel. I know he views Axel as a threat since the guy is trying to kill him and has fought him before, but you'd think he'd be like "OH HAY, I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY FRIEND, WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME NOW?" or something.

It just... it's not so much the fan-reaction as it is KH2 just presenting the whole thing so horribly that another game is needed to explore Axel and Roxas's friendship. If the friendship was so important to Roxas, why wasn't it explained properly the first place?

But that's just me ranting. I got nothing against people who are fans of the pairing or friendship, I got issues with how the game presents it. XD

Tangent: Pedophilia (IN ISOLATION FROM child molestation) isn't something we should condemn people for. No one can control their sexual attraction; all they can control is their behaviour in response to that attraction.

Imagine how awful it is for the pedophiles who recognize how despicable child molestation is. Yes, it happens, and often. They would rather die that touch a child, yet they are faced with an unwanted physiological attraction that horrifies them. Many of them spend years and large sums of money in clinical psychology practices trying to reduce/remove the urges through aversion therapy, etc.

The recent literature on the reason for these physiological misfires is actually pretty interesting, and will hopefully one day be able help many people, including pedophiles struggling with urges that sicken them, and most especially the potential victims of pedophiles who DO act on their attraction.

TL;DR:

Pedophiles who would never molest = completely deserving of our sympathy.
Pedophiles who are also child molesters & non-pedophile child molesters = appalling beyond words.

I'm more miffed at the fact that the OP is more horrified at the possibility of being a furry than the possibility of being a pedophile.

In other words, they'd rather deal with the stress of being attracted to children and the potential social ramifications than ... being attracted to anthromorphic creatures.

Uh, if I had to pick and choose, I'd rather be a furry?

Totally fair, and I agree entirely!

I got that that was the sentiment of the comment; let me apologize for using it as a platform to rant about a more general confounding of the two that often happens. It was partly inadvertant, too, my diatribes sometimes get away from me ;)

HAHAH That's fine. I actually agree with you, people who recognize that they cannot and WILL NOT act on their attraction deserve sympathy and help. It's those who actually do it (or CLAIM not to support child molesting and then put up sites rating little girls/boys and where to find them, thereby aiding child molestors) who are monsters.

On the other hand, finding anthromorphic creatures hot... Lots of stigma on the Internet and I'm sure you'll have to make a few new friends, but wow. You just can't compare the two.

I didn't say that being a pedophile is better than being a furry. The point of the secret is that my fear of being a furry is disproportionate with my general view of deviant sexuality. I'm not hateful towards furries, I'm just scared shitless of being one. There really is no way of wording it without coming off as a dick, which is why it's a secret in the first place.
