(Anonymous) 2015-03-17 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)He doesn't have self confidence: he has delusional, narcissistic arrogance fostered by the unhealthy and boundary-less way his mother raised him. He has NO self esteem, that's why he acts out all the time to make himself look amazing and in control of everything. And he has people who hang around with him because in small towns that's what you do, but he's a source of both derision and mockery for them.
Don't get me wrong, I love Cartman and think he's one of the best written characters on television right now, but if the things in your secret are genuinely what you're getting out of the way his character's been presented for the last decade and a half, then I don't think you're getting the joke somehow.
