I love how as soon as I saw Buffy, I realized everyone based Draco on Spike.

Really, Draco's more like Andrew - a fanboy (of Voldemort in Draco's case) who goes too far, gets in too deep, and has to pay the price.

Never been in the HP fandom, but people basing Draco on Spike? WTF? Did they not have the same source material?

I don't even consider Draco a villain. He's a bully, which is a different archetype altogether.

He functions as a villain early on in the series, imo. Not so much later.
