He's a creep with mommy issues who lucked into power and immediately started slaughtering people so he could get stronger. He has no higher purpose, no justification for his actions beyond an addiction metaphor that comes and goes, and he's not even cool, just overpowered and slimy. How the hell did he have fangirls?

Original anon - Yeah, but the actor wasn't the character. Zachary Quinto was/is hot. Sylar, I didn't see hot Zachary Quinto, I just saw a serial killer.

I guess that's a fair point, but Heroes was where he made his name, and he gave off a really creepy vibe there. He got hotter when he wasn't playing a serial killer.

Different anon. It's really not uncommon for people to be attracted to villains. I often am, because I find them interesting and sometimes they are even more amusing then the hero characters.

Sure I wouldn't like them in reality, but in fiction villains are often my favorite characters.

And for Heroes specifically, Sylar was one of the more interesting characters and Quinto did a great job portraying him. I actually think Quinto is better at creepy characters then normal ones, he was also really good when he was a villain on AHS.
