In that case, why call it manga if it ain't Japanese? Comics is a perfectly acceptable word. I use manga only to specify which language what I'm reading was originally written in.

Yes, and that's fine with me--my problem is that the OP of the secret is acting as though "manga" and "anime" somehow stand apart from American comics and cartoons, when it's just another name for the same thing.

Better put up Bandes dessinées in there too :D (aka, BDs, bédé, or...French comics). And whatever it's called in Spanish--I know they employ the same acronym scheme we use in French.

But I alternate between '[country/language of origin here] comics' and their names in their respected languages because I have friends who are anglophone and don't know French, or don't know Spanish etc. xD;
