Don't feel guilty. Leaving the "real" Neo is what allowed me to be able to watch the films and get into the fandom again without the bizarre, wrenching sense of cognitive dissonance I would always feel when I was forced to accept that the soulbonder that you're talking about was "the real Neo."

He's not.

There are other Matrix 'bonders out there and we're not all that batshit, I promise!

And you shouldn't stop trying to save the world, just because you quit his group. Trufax.

It's hard and weird. I even get slightly twitchy if someone makes a joke that references the series sometimes.

After I left, I promised myself I'd do something else big, instead. Like join an advocacy group. Still haven't! Sigh.
