The, "What the fuck happened to just using a god damn slash jesus christ" in the secret though.

It made the OP look a bit stupid that they don't get the practical reason why people use smushed up names.

Sure, portmanteaus were around before tumblr. Not used half as much though. Outside Japanese fandoms, they were mainly silly ship joke names that people didn't actually use and only existed in long implausible lists.

I don't think the OP is the stupid one here. And they were used long before tumblr was popular, not just as a joke. They were annoying then and they're annoying now. Just like you.

If that seriously annoys you then you need therapy. It's just a convenience for fucks sake.
It's harmless and nobody is stopping you from writing it all out for yourself. Other people can use whatever the fuck they want in their search methods and I honestly haven't seen anybody butthurt about it until this secret.

Then again there are some senior citizens are adverse to any sort of technology convenience, so I shouldn't be surprised people like this exist. Probably pisses you right the fuck off when people use acronyms like IMO or IIRC or the several companies that use acronyms in their names.

Pretty sure someone needs therapy here and it isn't me (or even the OP).

I work in an acronym heavy field, which was that way before technology and will remain that way forever, so no, things like that don't bother me. Probably because they make sense.

And just because you've never heard of people having a problem with portmanteaus before this--doesn't mean it didn't exist. It means that you're new to the fandom thing, is all. And that's okay. We all have to be beginners at some point. No one holds it against you.
