Yeah, I'm kind of doubting that the dog was a racist. Some people just raise their dogs to be very aggressive

My friend's cat is racist. No lie. She mostly runs away from people or disdains them, but there were two times she freaked out and hissed and tried to scratch someone: one delivery guy, and one repairman. My friends have all kinds of people over, including other delivery guys and repairmen, and the only time she did it was those guys, and the only thing they had in common is that they were Asian (and the only Asian strangers they've ever had over).

...I mean I realize it's probably something else, like how they smelled or something, but it's fun to rib my buddy about his racist cat ;p

It's actually pretty common for dogs to react badly to members of a racial group they're not used to. I'm totally serious. It's one reason to socialize puppies well.

How do you train them into that though? I hear people actually train their dogs into hating an ethnic group, but how do they do it? Is there a craigslist advert "wanted, black/chinaman/irish/latino to come and stand in a corner while I train ma hound to be racist at them"? I can't see a big response for that, even on craigslist.

I really wish I didn't have an answer for this, but I do. It's as simple as hurting the animal and shouting at it and making it angry and uncomfortable in the presence of strangers. When "stranger" = "other ethnic group", it just conflates itself readily to a racial bias.

If an animal knows it's going to be abused whenever it sees, say, a black person on the property pretty soon it just starts acting aggressively even without being hit with a belt or having beer bottles pelted at it.

Oh man, I was thinking of hiring myself out as a rent-an-ethnic to take money off racists who want their dogs to bark at brown people. Now I know I can't do that. I figured they'd just encourage it to bark at me, and I could wear earplugs the whole time then buy some fried chicken on the way home with their money. If they gotta hurt the dog in front of me, or have me do it, then that is right out. There are better ways to raise money.

My dog is sexist and racist.

She hates men. But she's alright with men who kind of look like women, but she's not okay with women who (not their fault) physically resemble men.

I am however relieved as fuck that she seems quite all right with black men. Just men in white-to-midtone get the growls.
