Re: Writing a Good OC (and/or recs?)

I think they work best when you're using them to explore parts of the universe that we only caught a glimpse of while following the canon characters. I think this is fairly popular in Hunger Game fandom because people want to write about past games that only got a passing mention but they have to fill them up with new kids to send to the arena.

AYRT - Ooh, I should look for those. Actually I think OCs would work really well in HG fic; it's harder when it's a fandom with a lot of fairly established minor characters.
