(Anonymous) 2015-03-22 01:12 am (UTC)(link)I have, to both, and I think some of our other fandom friends have as well, hence the recent tone down. I know I told this friend outright that they were making me uncomfortable.
As someone who's literally been harassed for 'misusing' a person's OC before (long story), that was my reasoning for not using their OC, plus like you said, I don't know the character as well as they do. Actually, I think I'm half the reason that OC has any kind of back story/character development to begin with, as whenever my friend started talking about their OC, I'd be annoying and ask for deeper details: 'Why would OC say that in this situation?', 'What, were did that detail come from, you said OC was [insert subject]!', 'Why, exactly, should this canon character care what your OC has to say and why does OC suddenly have power over them?' and so on.
