I do. I used to work in the industry. The notion of grand amounts of female-led comics you're suggesting isn't as vast as you're implying. There's also the question of who the audience is for - you can say Red Sonja is female led, but it sure as fuck isn't marketing itself primarily to women. You can say Vampirella is a female led comic - but it ain't there for women. Things like Catwoman, same. Batgirl - especially the Cassandra Cain run - was one of the larger and more recent inroads for women.

Things like Dawn, Strangers in Paradise, A Distant Soil, Rat Queens, etc, have often been good sellers for the industry, a notification that there has been a niche for women for a long time, but nothing saw the money sitting on the table and ran with it like current Marvel comics.

And there is simply nothing outselling the current Thor OR Ms. Marvel. This is a sign of a demographic shift, that's all.

The only reason people call this 'pandering' in angry tones, is because it's not pandering to the same goddamn fanboy who isn't sick of rebooting the same goddamn story with white Peter Parker and his sweet aunt May and stacked Mary Jane.

Comics are never known for their subtlety when it comes to tone or message, I don't know why they have to tiptoe around this one.
