Look, the brothers are the FOUNDATION of this show. The fans know it, the writers know it, and whether you think they're fucking or not (I personally don't but I'm sympathetic to those who do) if you take the focus off Sam and Dean it's just not Supernatural anymore.

I don't think anyone disagrees. But there is a difference between the brothers being the focus of the show and the show being only about them.

This, exactly. And the problem is those that wanted it to only focus on the brothers for ten seasons.

The focus has never NOT been on Sam and Dean; the problem is no one else is allowed to be on stage at all.

Think about it this way: Buffy The Vampire Slayer was ALWAYS about Buffy, at the center, right? But other characters were allowed to live past a season or two, and even have side-arcs all about them. Like the anon above said, there's a difference between focusing on Sam and Dean and ONLY focusing on Sam and Dean.
