beta-ray bill. some dude in the 90s whose name i can't remember. a frog.

i'm sure there were more but i never really read thor so those are the ones i remember.

In that case, during a fight, I hope that some lizard-man chose to stand down in solidarity with the frog. Otherwise, I feel an important lesson was probably lost.

Beta Ray Bill never replaced Thor, he got his own hammer two issues after his first appearance. The frog was Thor turned into a frog by Loki for two or three issues and then a couple of years another seperate Frog Thor was created but he never replaced Thor either.

In the 90's Thor was replaced by Eric Masterson but he only took the name to try and keep the fact that Thor had disappeared secret and in the end it turned out the real Thor was sealed inside his mind the entire time. And lots of fans complained at the time.

And in none of those previous times did Thor lose his own goddamn birth name.
