Most of the time, it's a case of the lurkers supporting us in email, which is all fine and good. But every once in a while, I'll get someone who really seems star-struck by me, and it's always a little disconcerting. I mean, I get that in a way, it's a compliment that they think so highly of me, but at the same time, I've said and done plenty of stupid shit. It usually feels less about ME than it is about THEM, feeling that they can't measure up, and that's really sad.
I only imagine it'd be way worse if we were a youtuber or something, where our face (and not just our cartoony scribbled versions) would be a constant part of our branding. Ugh. I wouldn't handle that well.
