I think my heart always belonged to Ed/Jack (Rolo Tamasi), but by the end of the movie I was pretty okay with Ed/Bud too. Which just goes to show that Ed has the worst luck in partners, really.

(Bud/Ed/Jack would have been ... interesting, as well. Had, you know, they all lasted that long. Three completely different kinds of sleaze and honour attempting to hold the line together. It would have collapsed spectacularly, I suspect, but it would have been fascinating to watch).

That's perfectly understandable OP, I haven't seen LA Confidential in a while but I remember the sexual tension between those two being off the charts. Didn't Kim Basinger's character even hint at something like that?
