Layering. Why do you need to wear eight differently-sized t-shirts at once? I don't understand. Choose one, damn you.

On the one hand, I don't like this. On the other hand, I like the straight-up 1999 look of t-shirt over a tight long-sleeved shirt...

Yeah, I often do it with polo shirts when it's too warm for a hoodie but too cold for one layer...

I haven't worn the look myself in years because I have acquired a large number of cardigans, but I went to a HS that had a uniform. And long-sleeved tees under the uniform polos was one of the few things that were allowed.

I was kind of a dork though, so I wore things like the uniform polo, a black sleeved tee, the uniform skirt (a knee-length navy blue a-line kilt-style skirt), knee-length socks with some crazy pattern (my favorite looked like the Tootsie Roll wrapper), and maxi-length leather coat straight out of the Matrix. Oy.

I don't know about layering t-shirts, but typically you layer a tee, a sweater/button-up, and a jacket for contrast and interest. One t-shirt is not enough unless it's 80 degrees outside.

Oh, I totally get that type of layering (although I personally disagree about one t-shirt not being enough, but that's of course going to differ from person to person). What I'm talking about is people wearing multiple t-shirts of differing lengths and colors (usually loud and clashing) on top of each other.

Maybe that's just something that's happened in my area?

For me in particular? So my bra design doesn't show through my shirt. The clothes I like are usually made of thinner material, so that means wearing a tank top unless I really want my coworkers to know my bra is lacy on certain days.

Yeah, I'm...starting to think I phrased/described this really, really badly, lol.

Me (but generally people who live in the tropics): how do you people live in the cold with just one layer of clothing!?

As a multi-layer-er,

1) It's cold. And until the sun rises and the north winds stop howlin', LAYERS FOR LIFE
2) It's kind of cute. I'm more of a turtleneck & over-sized flannel girl myself, but I look cute. Especially with my beret and high waisted jeans. i look straight out of Sister, Sister! And it's a cute look on me, imo!
3) I fancy myself a pirate, who wears many layers, to look ~cool~
4) Great for escaping, thought you caught me? HA! you've only taken the outermost layer of my 8 layers!

But it's cool, I do understand your frustration!
