Depends on where the boundaries of the relationship lie. Are both people in question truly completely fine with letting each other go off and have sexual experiences that are extraneous to the relationship? And more importantly, is the feeling mutual? Like, if your friend also wanted to have sex outside the relationship would that be okay? If so, that's fine.

Is your friend making a concession she's really not comfortable with just because she thinks it would improve matters? Then it's probably not a great idea.

But you're 100% correct in that isn't none of your business. It'll either work for them or it won't, and that's their issue to navigate.
