Maybe 75% of it is just bad-looking - like, so much so that I think designers are pranking everyone. It's like those weird mud-colored sculptures that people don't want to admit are awful because they don't want others to think they don't get it (and, okay, some people, like me, don't want to admit they're awful because they don't want to be rude and insulting since that dude in the scarf might actually like them). About 15% is okay - stuff that's not necessarily my style, but looks nice, though not spectacular. And 10% that actually looks really good, though again, not always to my taste. And there's almost always someone wearing some weird-looking headgear and then there's the ultra-heavy make-up for no discernible reason (if the models aren't supposed to smile because it draws attention away from the clothes, what the hell is with the notice-me make-up?).

if you're just looking for haute couture items to wear, you go to a designer shop, not to runway shows.

runway shows are theatrical by nature, conceptual fashion shows in particular. those are more about certain individual items than a 'look', although some houses do offer a whole 'look', like Dior.

I do not wear haute couture, nor do I have any plans to. The question was 'What sort of "fashion" annoys you?' And this was my answer. I see runway fashions on television and I don't think most of the outfits are in any way attractive. Some of them are interesting and I guess getting attention is the point.
