I'd love these two no matter what their relationship, but I agree it's nice to see a platonic M/F relationship done in this way. There is subtext going on but it's handled pretty gently imo and sometimes even subverted (the wedding thing, for example), which is the part that's refreshing.

I'm slowly making my way through this (I think I'm on episode 8?) and I agree. I like the super open and capable person dynamic. It's new and weird, but I like it.

Their relationship is very unique. Mentor/mentee, friends, rivals… it’s rare to see in general and even rarer in a m/f couple. Especially in anime/manga.
