Is this show any good? I have zero interest in medical shows and the trailer for this did not appeal to me at all, not even with Eoin in it. Sorry, Eoin. :( I hope I'm mistaken.

I miss him and feel bad for not giving it a try, but... I don't know, I've never been a massive fan of medical shows either and when I watch them it tends to be for the characters, not the cases. This secret is the first time I've wondered if I should watch, but it's unlikely I will since I have so many other things I want to do.

Still... Cute secret.

Yeah, I don't have much time for new shows at the moment so I'd rather watch something that I'm already fairly certain I will enjoy. Ah well, I can always re-watch some Gwaine-centric Merlin episodes (another really shallow reason for my reluctance to watch this show is that he's playing an American and I love listening to him speak in his native accent).

That's how I feel, too; there are plenty of shows I'm sure I would like if gave a chance, and some I already do but need to catch up on. Maybe one day, if I'm bored and run out of other stuff.

He was all kinds of adorable as Gwaine though, and his accent is lovely. I didn't know he was playing an American in this show but I wonder if he does a passing job.

It's pretty good! And yeah, I think it's definitely a thing where you watch more for the characters than the cases. The two in the secret are really cute together, and some of the cases are pretty interesting. It's not by any means an 'OMG must watch!' kind of thing, though, especially when it doesn't immediately jump out at you and there's so much other stuff to watch/catch up on.

And I wasn't familiar with the main actor before this show, but about wondering about him playing an American...I've seen a bunch of people wonder if the character is even actually supposed to be American because his accent is kind of all over the place lol

I think the main medical show for me was House, and what kept me so addicted was House/Wilson, so yea, it's definitely the characters and relationships.

I hope this show does good so he can keep being on TV, even if his accent needs some heavy work! Oh well, he looks pretty.

Hmmm...I don't know if I knew you liked House! I loooooved House/Wilson! I thought the show wasn't as good in the last couple seasons but I loved the ending. I always wanted House/Wilson to end up together, although I knew they probably wouldn't, but at the end I was like "eh, close enough" lol...in my head they found a cure for Wilson and lived happily ever after. :D

I still consider House MD to be one of my favorite shows, and House/Wilson is certainly one of the pairings I'm most enthusiastic about. They were made for each other. Rarely do you see a friendship so loving, even if that love is kind of obsessive and codependent, haha. I loved the ending too, and feel like one of the few that actually isn't TOO heartbroken with things as is. I believe this is because I like angst, and I've always been more okay with my favorite characters dying as long as they do it together. If Wilson dies, the thought that House would probably soon follow him brings me a weird sort of comfort.

I know how messed up this is, but... House wouldn't want to live without Wilson!

No, I totally agree! If Wilson died I don't think House would last much longer. I like angst, too, and there are times where I think that's definitely what must've happened, Wilson died and House did soon after. But I also like that it was open-ended enough that you could imagine a happy ending if you wanted. I guess it just depends on what kind of mood I'm in lol

I like it! It's not gonna win any awards or anything but it's entertaining. It's more the characters than the plot that I watch for, but some of the cases are interesting.

I can see that. When I tried watching Grey's Anatomy or House, I was more interested in the staff's relationships with each other than the actual cases. The only medical show I really enjoyed is Scrubs, and that was probably because of the unusual comedic format it took.

I am actually really interested in the premise of the Knick, but I hear that the surgery scenes get pretty up close and I can't really watch those. D:

I loved Scrubs! I need to rewatch it one of these days.

Hmm, I hadn't heard of that show but looked it up and it looks interesting! I'm not sure about close up surgery scenes, either, though.

It's like the first couple of seasons of ER. Fast past. Don't like the storyline? Sneeze. By the time you are done, they are with a different patient. Also, I like the twist of how most of the staff is former military. You don't see that too often.

I stopped watching after episode 3 in season 1, where the main guy blatantly ignored woman's wishes not to donate blood and drugged her to do what he perceived to be a greater good. This was a huge turn off from the show for me.
