Honestly, DA is no worse than other fandoms. Others are just as wanky, the wank usually just isn't framed using social justice outrage. Like, in other fandoms people wank and it's fairly obvious they're being silly and petty. In Dragon Age people wank and use things like pointing out how racist, sexist, or trans/homophobic the media is as a shield to get away with their screeds. Because suddenly you're not just wrong for liking a pairing/character/event/interpretation of canon, you're problematic.

It's very annoying and it makes actual activists for these causes look bad, but you can find spaces that aren't as eye-rollingly awful in it. It takes fairly liberal unfollowing if you try to do this on Tumblr, but it can be done.
